CONFERENCE OVERVIEW AND BACKGROUND

The 2025 Focus Conference invites scholars, educators, policymakers, and practitioners from around the globe to share research, innovative practices, and reflective insights on transforming higher education through global partnerships and academic exchanges.

Under the overarching theme — Shaping Global Perspectives in Higher Education: Leveraging and Enhancing Collaborations and Exchanges — the conference will explore innovative approaches that enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development through international collaborations.

PRESENTATION FORMATS

  • Paper Presentations (20 minutes): Share actionable insights and implementation strategies.
  • Workshops (40 minutes): Hands-on sessions with practical tools and methods.
  • Panel Discussions (40 minutes): Engage with experts on practical challenges and innovation.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Abstract Length:
    250–350 words
  • Content:
    Abstracts should clearly outline the research question, methodology (if applicable), and key insights or innovative practices related to the chosen sub-theme. Please ensure that submissions are well-aligned with the conference theme.

Publication Opportunities
Selected papers will be considered for publication in the conference proceedings published through Springer Nature. Additionally, a cohort of papers will also be considered for a special issue in the African Perspectives of Research in Teaching and Learning journal.

Submission Illustration

In addition to the main conference sessions, we are pleased to offer a series of two-day pre-conference workshops on 11–12 August 2025. These are designed to provide participants with practical skills and knowledge in key areas of higher education.

Conference Registration Fee: R7,250

Pre-Conference Workshop Fee: R2,050

Group Registration:  

A 5% discount is offered for groups of more than 5 members from the same institution.
